Talking With Angels
The AMA co-ed support group plays a crucial role in providing emotional, informational, and social support to its members, while also advocating for broader awareness and understanding of infertility issues. It is for individuals who are dealing with infertility related struggles and challenges.
Our support group is open to all, free of charge. We offer refreshments along with caring hearts. When you join our infertility support group, you’ll find a relaxed and comforting atmosphere. Please be aware that some attendees may already be pregnant, providing encouragement to those still on their journey. We all benefit from sharing experiences and supporting each other. Since starting in 2022, our infertility support group has been a great success, fostering many new friendships.
Talking with Angels, focuses on fertility support, and serves several important purposes:
- Emotional Support: It offers a safe place for individuals and couples to talk about their feelings and experiences with infertility. This helps reduce loneliness and provides comfort.
- Sharing Information: Members exchange helpful information about fertility treatments and other options. This empowers people to make informed choices about their fertility journey.
- Understanding and Empathy: Hearing others’ stories helps validate feelings and build empathy among members.
- Coping Together: The group discusses ways to manage the emotional and practical challenges of infertility. Members learn from each other’s experiences.
- Building a Community: Being part of the group creates a sense of belonging and connection. It shows that others understand and support each other.
- Raising Awareness: The group can raise awareness about infertility issues and advocate for better support and understanding.
Overall, our support group is here to provide emotional support, share information, build understanding, foster community, and raise awareness about infertility.
Meet our support group leader:
Hello, I’m Shellie, a long-time resident of Bakersfield. My husband Brandon and I have shared 12 wonderful years together (since 2011!). Over the span of more than 7 years, we faced countless doctors’ appointments, tests, surgeries, needles, injections, IUIs, IVF treatments, miscarriages, and the relentless waiting, pain, heartbreak, uncertainty, suffering, and grief that accompany infertility. But here’s the twist: we emerged from that challenging journey with a precious baby of our own.
I intimately understand the profound toll infertility takes on our hearts, bodies, lifestyles, finances, and relationships. Now, I’m committed to supporting other local families as they navigate their own paths toward parenthood.
